The topic is the school district budget. Director of Finance Eileen Sadlowski will be giving a detailed presentation on this year`s proposed budget.
There will be substantial cuts this year and parents are encouraged to be aware of the possibilities.

UPCOMING DOCUMENTARY, JAN 28, 2010, 8 pm on CBC(repeated on Feb 4 on CBC News Network 10 pm – The Downside of High – scientific perspective on some of the little-known or discussed risks of marijuana, particularly for teenagers.
PARENTING WITH PIZZAZ WORKSHOP, FEB 6
COPAC will be partnering with Parenting with Pizzazz for their February 6 educational event, that runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Martin Ave. Community Centre (Boys & Girls Club) All parents are encouraged to attend as there is excellent information available. Cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple. Registration starts Jan. 5 and can be done by calling 250-762-3989, ext. 102, or www.boysandgirlsclub.ca. Agendas and information will be on the COPAC website (www.copac.ca) so look for that information in January.
PRO D DAY PRESENTATION, FEB 19
Parents are invited to attend the keynote speaker sponsored by COTA at the February 19th Pro D day - Gabor Mate author of “Hold on to your Kids” speaking on the Teacher/Parent/Student Relationship from 1:30 to 3 pm. See www.thecota.ca for more information
